nineteen - twenty one 「 i tried to write about your eyes but i ran out of cliches, i tried to say you plainly but there wasn’t enough truth, whoever invented this language didn’t anticipate you. 」 + @open + bring an umbrella | [attr="class","lobotext"]Now when you pictured a broody student attempting to isolate themselves, you'd probably imagine the ideal location to be the roof. While he certainly wouldn't mind having the vantage point, he wasn't so familiar with the school yet as to be confident in the layout and potential escape routes, which was precisely why getting cornered on the roof just didn't seem like the wisest idea, especially with his... affliction. So, no. In the end, he decided the courtyard was far more open and safe, even if there were much more people likely to be about. Believe it or not though, he didn't really mind being around people. Sure, outsiders put him a little on edge, but he'd rather be out in public with strangers than be completely and utterly alone. It... it just wasn't something he cared to experience again.
Course perhaps he didn't have to worry about outsiders for too long. With a subtle sniff, Connor decided that it smelled like rain, and sure enough gray clouds were steadily rolling in, prompting those a little wary of water to begin relocating in favor of not risking getting wet. The westerner himself didn't appear to mind in the slightest. A little rain never hurt anybody, after all. And besides, he was always told he was dripping with good looks.
He huffed a little air of amusement at the thought, back rested against the rough bark of the tree behind him, providing just a little bit of cover, though not really enough to spare him from the raindrops when it would inevitably begin, but there was obviously no concern to his features. No, he seemed as stoic as ever, golden eyes focused on the phone in his hand as he undoubtedly was texting another one of the Bennetts, perhaps to inform them of the impending weather and to find themselves an umbrella. While he wasn't afraid of rain, he knew some who might be devastated if they were to get drenched. Besides, he didn't want anyone to get any colds. Hypocrite much? Maybe. But a little rain wouldn't hurt him, Connor liking to think he was pretty hardy, and he actually enjoyed the sensation. The sight, the smell, and especially the sound. The white noise had always been comforting in his darkest times and made him feel relaxed...
But perhaps a bit too relaxed? After all, he was so focused on other matters that it would be quite easy to walk up on him without him noticing.

[googlefont="Lateef|Molle:400i"] [attr="class","jadenIcon"] [attr="class","jadenIcon"] [attr="class","jadenIcon"] [attr="class","jadenIcon"] I don't want them to know the secrets i loved you I don't want them to know the way [attr="class","jadenPost"]He had known today was going to be a bad hair day at some point. Early mornings were often spent staring at his phone for ten or fifteen minutes before he forced himself to roll out of bed. The weather app gave the chance of rain, but it was not the impending shower from above that worried him. It was the humidity. If he was not careful, his hair would frizz up, and he refused to be seen in public like that.
Thin fingers combed through pale blue locks of hair as he fussed over himself in the mirror of the boys' restroom. It was already happening subtly. It was not a change that was noticeable by the untrained eye, but, for someone who made their living off of their looks, it stuck out like a sore thumb. Jaden clicked his tongue as he leaned away from the mirror, dropping his hands to his sides. "I give up," he grumbled to himself and reached down, pulling his bag off the floor.
Was it free period yet? Or were they just in between classes? He ducked out of class the moment he could, so he hadn't the slightest clue. Well, he would know soon enough if a teacher stopped him. With a shrug, he pulled his sketchbook and pencil case, tucking them beneath one arm so he could sling the backpack over his shoulder. Out of the restroom and down the hall, his steps slowed as he glanced out the window to the courtyard, spotting a familiar teenager beneath a tree.
Well, if Connor had found a new spot to lurk in, then they obviously did not need to get to class anytime soon. Adjusting his grip on his sketchbook, he picked up the pace to wind through the halls, down the stairs, and out to the courtyard. His nose wrinkled slightly with the sight of clouds, another reminder of the growing humidity. Dismissing the thought, he made his way over to the tree, pleased to find that Connor had yet to move.
Stepping around the back of the tree, he grabbed his pencil case and reached over, tapping the wolf on the head with the case. "Need a brooding partner?" He flashed a smile. nineteen - twenty one 「 i tried to write about your eyes but i ran out of cliches, i tried to say you plainly but there wasn’t enough truth, whoever invented this language didn’t anticipate you. 」 + you're not allowed to be sneaky when you are so flashy lol | [attr="class","lobotext"]Off in his own little world, of course Connor didn't sense the presence approaching from behind, so it should have been no surprise that he jumped a bit as something tapped him on the head, reaching up to shield himself a little late as he turned to face the culprit, which just so happened to be the peacock in all his glory, though perhaps a bit more ruffled than usual thanks to the humidity. That wasn't his first thought however, the wolf sighing in relief before shaking his head with a snort. "When did you become so sneaky?" Or better yet when did Connor stop paying attention to his surroundings? Ah well, it was a mistake he didn't wish to repeat, but fortunately it wasn't followed up with any consequences other than the minor scare and perhaps consequential amusement from the other Bennett. At least he had a decent sense of humor and would be able to laugh along.
As for the comment however, Con couldn't help but roll his eyes a bit. "I'm not brooding," says the brooder, though he'd still argue that he wasn't necessarily brooding, just thinking. He couldn't help that he had a bit of a 'resting bitch' face when he was spaced out. All that said, however, he moved over a bit to make room for Jaden to join him under the tree, obviously not too bothered by the misguided impression to not welcome the company. He might have come across as a loner but a lone wolf he certainly wasn't, at least with most things.
"I thought you would have been looking for shelter by now." After all, Jaden was one of the very Bennetts he'd suspected of having issue with the weather, being as focused on his looks as he was. Nothing wrong with that though! As long as Jaden was enjoying himself, that was all that mattered. With their curse, they needed to take whatever happiness they could get and the fact that he was actually modelling in spite of the curse was actually a bit inspiring. Not enough for him personally care too much about fashion and whatnot, that just seemed like a lot of work, but it was all the more reason he had to respect Jaden's hustle in keeping up with the trends.

He shot back as he straightened up and retracted his hand. The pencil case was set on top of his sketchbook once more, freeing up his hand. A smile continued to play on his lips, and he hummed with amusement. No matter how much the Wolf tried to claim otherwise, brooding was brooding to the rest of the world. It did not matter how good you looked; if you were sitting under a tree on a gloomy day, you were probably brooding.
"What were you doing, then? Waiting for the heavens to open up so you can smell like a wet dog?" The corners of his lips curled with a soft laugh, and Jaden shifted his weight before moving to occupy the space Connor had freed up. Thin legs stretched out in front of him before crossing at the ankle. He set his sketchbook on his lap, leaving one hand to rest on top while the other moved to anchor himself on the grass behind him so he could lean some of his weight on it.
"I've already given up on taming my hair today, so a tree is shelter enough." Even though it was winter and they both risked catching a cold by sitting out in the oncoming rain. Jaden let out a sigh, leaning his head back. Blue eyes glanced up at the cloudy sky. "Japan is too humid."
