[attr="class","nodensright"] [attr="class","nodensright1"]SUBJECT TEMPERAMENT [attr="class","nodensright2"] [attr="class","nodensright22"] Yuuto, or Yuu for short, is a rather eccentric fellow. He's outgoing, talkative, and often finds himself preening at the attention of others. A smile is almost always present upon his lips because he has a firm policy that if he pretends he's happy, he will indeed feel happy. He is often friendly towards those around him and loves to help where he can. However, he is incredibly careful around women. He knows the risks of someone finding out about the curse and, after the way his mother treated him most of his love, he has a terrible fear that others might feel the same way if they ever knew. Even still, he's very much a lover, not a fighter, preferring a pacifist sort of approach to just about everything. [break][break] Despite what is often a happy-go-lucky attitude, Yuu has some serious mental hangups. His mistreatment as a child has left him pretty insecure. He does his best not to show it but he is often wondering if what he does is good enough. Mix that with a serious inability to stay focused on one thing for too long, and he feels like everything he does will, eventually, end in some sort of failure. That doesn't stop him, but he's constantly ready to feel some sort of disappointment in his life. [attr="class","nodensright1"]SUBJECT BACKGROUND [attr="class","nodensright21"] [attr="class","nodensright22"] Yuuto's life didn't necessarily have the happiest of beginnings. His mother was an american woman that had met his father during a semester abroad in college. Love was quick to blossom and she was taken into the Sohma folds quite quickly. While she had heard about the curse from Hideki, Yuuto's father, the pair were certain that they wouldn't have to deal with the challenges the curse had to offer. After, Hideki was certain there hadn't been one in his specific line in the family for a few generations now and there was no way they'd be so unlucky. However, that changed when Yuuto was born. [break][break] The very first thing Yuuto's mother ever did when she held him was scream. Seeing a small puppy within her grasps was not what she had ever expected and she quickly dropped him onto the covers of her bed. From that moment on she wanted nothing to do with him. He remained within the family, mostly because of Hideki's insistence, but his mother constantly treated him as if he was a lesser being or non-existent. He tried to do whatever he could yo make his mother happy as a child but it was obvious she wanted nothing to do with him. She, instead, had more children to try to make up for the disappointment that her first son was. His father tried to assure him that everything would be alright, but Yuu rarely felt it was. He was often made to play on his own and his siblings were not allowed to hug him, especially his younger sister. Anything that could leave them to know just what he was. [break][break] When he was about fourteen, his mother was diagnosed with a serious illness. With only so much time to live, her final weeks were the only time in his entire life that she showed any sort of love or affection towards him. He would take care of her while his father was at work, took off of school to take up more of the responsibilities at him. She even finally started holding him, dog or not. They were the happiest moments he ever had with her and the loss hit him even harder the night she finally passed. [break][break] She only ever said that she loved him once. [break][break] From then on, he began taking on more and more responsibilities at home. He felt obligated to take care of his siblings after school while their father worked hard through the night. He almost never got to see him anymore, but he tried to keep from worrying too much. Always smiling, always looking as if everything was okay, he worked twice as hard to try and make it through the rest of his school days. He hadn't initially planned to go to college but with the insistence of his family, he has recently started into culinary school. He's also been helping with bills for the past two years by working at a pastry shop as a baker. He aspires to eventually open his own restaurant but working at the bakery has certainly been a good first step for him.
